Update existing projects using the data collection app
The arborist is supposed to update existing trees and add new ones
Limitations
It is not possible to update projects with another update running.
This procedure is suitable for smaller projects (up to approx. 2000 trees).
It is currently not possible to update synchronized projects.
It is currently not possible to update projects that contain a green passport or technical elements.
If you need to update projects that are larger in scope, are synchronized or contain a passport, please contact us using the email address info@stromypodkontrolou.cz. Thank you.
Procedure
Prepare the data. The Partner initiates the project update and selects the Arborist who will perform the update.
Go to the project update overview page (Activity overview > Project updates).
Click the Start update button.
Select the project and arborist who will carry out the update.
Confirm by clicking the Start button.
Download the data to the tablet. The Arborist waits until the server exports the project for use in Bonsai (they will receive an email), downloads the project backup to the tablet, and restores the project in Bonsai.
Project > Open project (Folder icon) > SPK
Select the project.
Update the data on the tablet. The Arborist updates the project data on the tablet.
Uploade data from the tablet to the server and release the data. The Arborist uploads the completed project to the server and releases it using the standard procedure.
Credits will be deducted for new trees and groups and for modified trees and groups.
No credits are deducted for trees and groups that were not changed during the update.
For trees or groups that the arborist has released previously, 1 credit is deducted.
For trees or groups that the arborist is releasing for the first time, 2 credits are deducted.
Hand over the data. On the project update page, the Arborist selects the uploaded inventory to be used and submits it for completion.
Selecting the uploaded inventory for the update: Activity overview > Project updates > Running tab > click on the date of the relevant update > section Uploaded inventories with project > click Select on the line with the relevant uploaded inventory.
Complete the update: Activity overview > Project updates > Running tab > click the date of the relevant update > click the Complete button in the Project update page> confirm by clicking the Complete button in the Complete the update page
The server, in the background, replaces the original project with the new version and applies any changes that occurred on the server since the original project export.
The arborist is supposed to only add new trees in new sites
The Arborist creates a new project in the application and collects data.
It is recommended to name the project in a way that makes it clear it is an update (e.g., project “City Name (area additions 2021-08)”).
Name new districts with the names they are meant to have.
If you are adding an area to an existing district, it is recommended to create a new district with the original group’s name, supplemented with an indication that it is an update.
The Arborist uploads the project to the server, releases it, and publishes it (it must be assigned to the correct Partner).
The Partner merges the new project with the old one:
My data > Projects > Find card of the original project > Actions > Merge
The original project will act as the main project, and the project with the new areas will act as the secondary project.
The merge process runs in the background, and the Partner will be notified once it is complete.
During the merge, all ditricts from the secondary project are transferred to the original project.
If necessary, the Partner can moves sites into the correct districts and delete any empty districts.
Move a site: My data > Projects > Find the card of the project > Click the Data browser button > Go to the district page > Select the sites to be moved > click the Move button
Delete an empty district: My data > Projects > Find the card of the project > Click the Data browser button > Go to the district page > Actions > Delete
